Picture Day

School pictures have changed since my day.

Mind you, I am only a 24 year old Librarian (I love being able to say that), but already the photography industry for education has ceased to exist as I know it.

Sister, being the Fine Educator that she is, just recently got her school pictures back. Did you know they get three pictures now? One of the class, one of the staff, and then the classic school picture day with bluish-grayish backdrop shot. Pretty classy set-up right? I thought so.

However, when I was telling Sister this, she looked at me with open confusion on her face.
"What about that seems great to you? They're kind of useless" Thus, I present:
Things to do with School Pictures

  • pass them out to your friends who do not work as teachers. They will think it's hilarious.
  • trade them with your friends who do work in schools. They will still think it's kind of funny.
  • put it up next to Al Pacino's bed to be ironic.
  • paste it into a sister or roommate's planner. They will find it one day and think it's kind of funny and kind of annoying.
  • make them into business cards. I will laugh about it silently in my head.
And this is only off the top of my head! I bet there's all sorts of things you can do with your school pictures I haven't even thought about yet!
